Kim Molzahn

Director of Human Resources

As director of human resources, Kim Molzahn provides practical, consistent and proactive support, direction and advice to other managers on HR procedure, policy, best practices and employment-related legislation to facilitate organizational objectives. She reviews and suggests human resource related changes to add value to Baker and improve corporate culture and work environment.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Personnel Psychology and HR Management - Washington State University

Biography

Since her addition to the Baker team in August of 2013, Molzahn has served as subject matter expert and advises management of relevant laws and legislation on a federal, state and local level. She develops and maintains job descriptions for each position, and analyzes wage and salary data to determine competitive compensation for each position. Molzahn conducts recruitment for all non-union personnel, manages the 401(k) benefit program, manages and tracks all leaves of absence, and develops and manages the HR staff. She also administers the performance review program to ensure timeliness and maximum effectiveness, oversees all company benefit programs, and coordinates exit interviews for all separating employees. In addition, she works with the field labor manager and safety manager to manage workers’ compensation claims. 

Molzahn has been an instructor for California State University San Marcos’ HR Certification Program since January of 2015 and is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the San Diego HR Forum. Previously she was the regional HR manager for ANN INC., and served as the Pacific North West regional HR manager for Old Navy as well.
