As Baker Electric Home Energy’s controller since 2014, Cherri Ewing manages all financial affairs, including monthly and annual financial statements, reporting on cash flow analysis and overall risk management.

Biography

Ewing previously served as Baker Electric, Inc.’s controller from 1999 to 2005 and rejoined the Baker family of companies in 2009 as Baker Electric, Inc.’s controller. There she managed all financial affairs including contracts with military, schools, condominiums, casinos, residential developers and small service work. She also created employee handbooks, process flows, position guides, standardized forms and the budgeting process, as well as handled cash management, preliminary notices for all jobs and bond and mechanic lien claims. In the interim from 2006 through 2008, Ewing continued gaining construction experience at California Comfort Systems USA (CCS), a San Diego mechanical and plumbing contractor. She served as their controller and handled annual budgeting; created department and company written process and procedures; supervised accounting, human resources, administrative and technology staff; and managed cash flow, insurance claims, wrongful termination and legal issues for the company. She also served as controller at the San Diego Association of Realtors® from 1991 to 1999.

Ewing is a certified public accountant and received her B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington. She is a member of AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and CFMA (Construction Financial Management Association).

Ewing brings more than 25 years of experience in accounting and construction to her role. She was also Baker’s first employee to install a solar system on her home in North County San Diego in the summer of 2005.
