After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at San Diego State University, Miliate held key roles building and leading several multi-million dollar corporations as well as serving as Assistant Vice President of the third largest financial institution in California, where he gained valuable exposure and knowledge managing and improving operations, mitigating risk, interpreting rules and regulations to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulating authorities, and overseeing the coordination and activities of independent and governmental audits.
As chief financial officer at Baker, Brian’s focus is now squarely on mapping the company’s future direction and growth, maximizing profitability, enhancing cash management and cost analysis, reviewing purchasing and payroll administration, including risk management and issue resolution, assessing the benefits and contractual arrangements of joint venture and private construction negotiations, investigating cost-effective employee benefit plans, reporting and reconciliation of pension plan requirements, implementation and documentation of company-wide accounting systems, and assisting the president and executive team in identifying and developing viable business opportunities. In addition to his CFO responsibilities, Brian spent 2007-2013 establishing and developing Baker’s residential photovoltaic solar business into a regional industry leader.
Striving to stay abreast of rapid financial and electrical industry changes, Miliate proudly maintains professional affiliations with the Construction Finance Management Association (CFMA) and American Subcontractors Association (ASA). He invests in our community as Vice President of the Escondido Charter High School Board of Directors, one of California’s highest-performing high schools.
